would have to be entirely manipulated to maintain a cat 5 at landfall on this coast
our shallow shelf acts like a speed bump
cat 4 tops
we have steady rain and moderate wind now...
current surge map shows us just north of landfall
which is best news
water will be sucked out
minimal surge
but that could change
it's a battle from here on out

we are in situ atm
there's a shelter at local hs a couple miles inland
and my friend from Blackpool is hunkered down in her cinder block airbnb behind her home
because it has new roof. also two miles away
we can run there if things take a turn

I thought of that too... strat missed the dinner kiddo, her bf, mom and myself last supper before the storm kiddo's bf has lost everything...his divorced parents live on opposite ends of beach both houses flooded waist high he's living at the Hilton dt all he has is a laundry hamper that he carries his clothes around in and a surfboard |
